Learning in the EYFS

At Carpenters, the aim of the EYFS is to ensure that all children benefit from a safe, secure and happy environment.

Our children have opportunities to play and develop, laying the foundation for success with the primary school curriculum.

We believe that children learn best through hands on experiences that are provided both indoors and outdoors. As you walk around the Foundation Stage, you will observe the children engaging in adult–led focused or child initiated learning activities. During child initiated activities, we allow the children to make choices about the activities they want to participate in. There are a wide range of resources that pupils can engage with, allowing them to access learning linked to the seven areas of learning, at any time.
